XANDER MATERNÉ

Xander Materné is a Belgian artist born in Leuven in 1997. With a background in illustration and autonomous visual arts.
His paintings are defined by expressive, sometimes aggressive lines, focusing on texture and shadow, often reminiscent of bas-relief.
Inspired by diverse cultural influences and children's art, he does not censor his artwork based on what people might think.
His works explore themes of transformation, primal imagery, and raw emotions, engaging viewers with their bold, skeletal forms and thick, tactile paint.
Xander also teaches at the Art Academy of Leuven.
